The New Zealand Branch is extending an invitation to dancers all over the world to attend its 2009 - 2010 Summer School to be held in Auckland from the 28th of December to the 5th of January.

The AUT University Akoranga Campus in North Shore City, Auckland is the venue for the 2009 – 2010 Summer School. The campus is an easy walk from general shops, supermarkets, cafes and Takapuna. Additionally, a bridge links the campus to the new Northern Busway, allowing excellent access to Albany and Auckland City along with locations on the North Shore including the East Coast Bays and their beaches.

The Summer School offers a full range of classes for dancers as well as a Musician’s Course. AUT University offers a gymnasium with a sprung wooden floor and air conditioned dance studios. Other classes will be held at halls within an easy walk of the accommodation.

We are pleased to have an excellent line up of teachers both local and international. Ian and Judith Muir of the Craigellachie Band, the Balmoral Band and others will provide music during the Summer School.

Residents will be accommodated in modern student apartments on the university campus. The apartments consist of 5 private bedrooms with a communal lounge and kitchenette as well as two bathrooms.

The Auckland Region boasts a number of attractions for visitors. Vantage points for a view of the city are bountiful; climb one of a number of volcanoes including North Head in Devonport or the iconic Rangitoto, or take the lift up the Sky Tower and enjoy 360 degree views of the region. Kelly Tarlton’s Underwater World allows visitors to view penguins from a snowmobile and see sharks and exotic fish from beneath. Bush walks or beaches, vineyards or skiing, they’re all only a short trip from the campus and are waiting for you to enjoy this summer.

More information along with Registration forms and brochures can be found on the Summer School website (http://ssakl.rscdsnzb.org.nz). If you would like additional information or would like to have the forms emailed out to your group please do not hesitate to get in contact with us.
